Fresh Florals

It’s still mid-Winter, but Spring will be here before we know it.  I’m preparing with bright and colorful floral accessories.  Vivid hues and bold patterns are back in style for Spring 2010 and who wants to be caught in the sunshine with drab darks?

Anthropologie, Ken Scott, D&G, Kate Spade, Prada, Barefoot Tess

I’ve found some fun accessories to illuminate your wardrobe, pictured above.  These are easy to pair with light solid neutrals like ivory, bone, and tan. If you’re a little more adventurous, try putting on some striking patterned clothing…

Shoshanna, Free People, Nanette Lepore, Anthropologie

Be careful, though! These are patterns that can look dangerously reminiscent of grandma’s couch.  Look for styles that complement your body type.  Shorter girls should avoid large floral prints as they can make you look shorter.  Bigger girls should also avoid large florals as they can draw attention to your size. If the pattern is super busy, tone it down with plainer accessories. Floral patterns can really draw attention to yourself so find flattering cuts.  If the cut isn’t contemporary or the garment doesn’t fit right, a matching pillow may be thrown your way.

Have fun shopping!
