Sorority Recruitment: Day 2

Hello dear readers! A couple days ago, my co-blogger Grace wrote about what to wear to night 1 of recruitment. I’m here to shed light on what to wear to Day 2 – most often referred to as Philanthropy Night at most campuses.

Grace and I are only familiar with recruitment at Chapman University, but sorority recruitment is pretty similar across the board. An outfit for Philanthropy Night is pretty close to you might wear to Night 1 of recruitment.

A nice dress or clean cut jeans with a casual blouse are ideal. Leave the cocktail dresses, ripped jeans, and sweatshirts at home. You don’t want to be too casual or too fancy – dress like it’s a first date.

Philanthropy NightPaige Denim Straight Leg Jeans $189. J. Crew Knotted Chain Necklace $68. Halogen Silk Ruffle Blouse $39.90. Going in Circles Headband $32. Sam Edelman Caper Ballet Flat $99.

Be sure to ask your recruitment counselors/guides about proper attire for recruitment. Every school has a different suggested dress code. For example, jeans may be okay to wear at Chapman University’s recruitment, but jeans are discouraged at other schools’ recruitment weekends.

As much as you want to impress a certain house, they want to impress you too. The sorority girls spend a lot of time prepping for that weekend, so take the time to return the favor and show them the best version of yourself. Remember to be yourself and dress to match your own personal style.
